Octavio Pause or Mexican Mojito

“…chases after it, mocks it, courts it, hugs it, sleeps with it; it is his favorite plaything and his most lasting love.”

A quote from celebrated Mexican philosopher, statesman, and poet Octavio Paz. I feel the same way about Tequila.

A twist on the Cuban Mojito, made in homage to Mexico’s legendary poet, philosopher, author, and statesman, Octavio Paz, the mint is replaced by cilantro, and the tall summer refresher has a bit of heat, the brightness of tangerine, the rhubarb basted Italian bitter Aperol, and used vodka as the base spirit.  This drink has the festive feel of a seaside Latin village, and for those who enjoy the flavor of Cilantro, it is a compelling twist on the Cuban Classic.
